Thinking of moving to the Northwest of England? Struggling to work out the town to move to? Are you asking yourself questions such as: what are the transport links, what are the schools like, are there enough local amenities?
We have just the answers as we list this month’s 3 towns and villages to explore.
- Trawden, Lancashire
With an excellent community feel, Trawden is one of our favourite places in the Northwest. Villagers have saved and now consequently run the local pub, shop and library giving it a real community feel. Transport links to Manchester as well as Leeds are of a commutable distance and with excellent schooling, it is not surprising that The Sunday Times have noted it as one of the best places to move to, you can really see what gives this village the edge.
- Waddington, Lancashire
It can be said that Waddington has some of grandest scenery of the North. Stone built cottages, rolling hills and excellent amenities, Waddington holds the real charm and character so many villages are lacking. The village is a regular winner of the Lancashire Best Kept Village Award and it is clear to see why. Containing 3 popular pubs and with fantastic schooling for both primary and secondary education while having easy access to Clitheroe it should firmly be on you list to consider.
- Kirby Lonsdale, Cumbria
First named by The Sunday Times as the best place to live in the Northwest back in 2019, Kirby Lonsdale has contributed to impress.
As a small, unspoilt market town situated on the edge of the the Yorkshire Dales providing access to fantastic walks and cycle routes to explore the local area. Kirby Lonsdale has maintained a thriving and diverse high street which was runner up back in 2016 in the British High Street Awards. Transport links couldn’t be better with the M6 around 6 miles away.
